Ft. Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) April 04, 2013
e-Builder, an industry leader in the development and deployment of cloud-based capital program management software, announced today that the Port of New Orleans will standardize project information management, reporting, and business process automation using e-Builder EnterpriseTM.
e-Builder Enterprise will provide a central repository of project information and collaborative environment for project stakeholders to share project documents, with automated version control. The new system will improve budget tracking by allowing Port stakeholders to have full visibility into changes to the budget as projects move forward. The software will also provide a platform to standardize and automate processes to have a consistent way of managing projects.
Before selecting e-Builder Enterprise, the Port of New Orleanss Port Development Division relied on spreadsheets and MS Project to track project cost and schedule data. In addition, files were stored on multiple servers which made it difficult to share information as needed by project participants. This ad hoc system made it impossible to have visibility into potential risks that could escalate into cost overruns or delays.
The team also needed a system that would allow information to be entered and reported in a consistent manner, and keep executives up to date on the status of the program. Rolling up information in the old system was a lengthy and time consuming process. By the time project information was compiled and formatted into a report, it was outdated, and useless to drive decisions. e-Builder Enterprise will make it possible for project stakeholders to access to more accurate project information in real time within minutes.
e-Builder Enterprises Cost Management capabilities will simplify the process of managing multiple funding sources and cashflow projections. In addition, the Port of New Orleans plans to eventually integrate e-Builder Enterprise with their Lawson Financials software. Jonathan Antevy, e-Builder co-founder, said we value the trust that the Port of New Orleans has placed on our software and our company. This is another great example of a public entity being proactive about improving the return of their constituents investment in their projects, and we expect more public agencies to follow suit.
